A bit about me

I’m Jakub, born in 1992 — pilot, instructor, and tandem pilot (CZ/AT).

Like many others, I fell in love with “sailing” sports early on. Starting with windsurfing, I became a kitesurfing instructor at 15, tried countless other crazy sports, and by 24 I’d moved on to skydiving, quickly followed by paragliding and speedflying, which gradually became my main focus.

Since there wasn’t any group uniting speedflyers in the Czech Republic, I founded Czech Speedfly — and together with a bunch of friends, we started visiting world events, sharing our experience with newcomers, and selling equipment.

At the same time, my paragliding career evolved more toward the Hike & Fly community, traveling across Europe and competing in races. Flying slowly turned into a way of life. I began selling speedfly gear, earned my instructor and tandem pilot licenses, and in 2021, after years of cooperation with Ozone in speedfly wing sales, we expanded to include paragliding equipment as well.

In 2021, I took part in the legendary Red Bull Dolomitenmann race for the first time, and in 2022, our hobby team ŽSD Slovakia managed to win it! In 2023, I obtained my Austrian tandem pilot license and started flying tandems professionally around Salzburg.

And since I love hanging out by the water as much as in the mountains, I’ve recently become fascinated by wing foiling — the art of levitating above the water on a small hydrofoil board powered by a handheld wing. Thanks to my brother, who’s a professional paddleboarder, we became official Armstrong dealers and began teaching this exciting sport as well.
